Mount Rinjani Trekking Tour Start Senaru

Trekking Mount Rinjani via Senaru is more challenging as the journey will start from Senaru 601m above sea level, towards Plawangan at 2,641m above sea level, then on the second day, will involve a trek down to the lake which is 2,000m away and then hike up to Plawangan Sembalun 2,639m. The next day, trekkers will climb to the top and descend to Sembalun.

Mount Rinjani Hiking Start Sembalun

Trekking to the top of Mount Rinjani via Sembalun is easier because Sembalun is located at 1,150m above sea level while Senaru has a height of 601m above sea level.

The climb to the top is usually done and starts at Pelawangan Sembalun on the second day of the tour, climbs to the top then descends to Segara Anak lake, takes a hot bath, and goes up to Plawangan Senaru for camping and the next day down to Senaru.
